Erica is a New Orleans native with a PhD in Medical Anthropology from the University of Alabama. She was an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina in both the Anthropology and Women and Gender Studies departments before making the leap to industry to work as a Medical Ethnographer/User Researcher in technology. She worked at a hospital based innovation center in Silicon Valley before moving to Norway in 2017 to take a position with Telenor Digital leading their global user research program. After a stint in Berlin in 2020-21, she moved back to Norway to pursue citizenship. Erica is now a dual citizen of the US and Norway, is fluent in conversational Spanish, and speaks Norwegian at a B1 level. In her free time, she is Chair of Democrats Abroad Norway and co-hosts a bi-weekly radio program called US Politics, In Plain English on Drammen Unlimited Radio.
